Halloween Lunch
Thanks to Laura Nudo and Debbie Ferguson for coordinating the Halloween Lunch. There were many parent volunteers to help make this event a smooth and enjoyable one. The students had fun and always look forward to these festivities!

Fashion Show
The Fashion Show was a huge success, benefiting over $44,000 for the school! The basket and tuition raffles were a big hit! Thank you again to Carla Caruso, 6th grade moms, models and many, many volunteers for your hard work, making this a success!

Cookie Dough Sale
The Cookie Dough Sale was a great success. Thanks to Lisa Stark for coordinating this fundraiser. Special thanks to all the people who made a purchase, enjoy the yummy cookies!

Santa’s Workshop/Book Fair
Angie Spratt, Sharon Muccianti and Debbie Villasenor did a wonderful job coordinating Santa’s workshop/Book Fair. The children really enjoyed shopping for their family, friends and pets.

The Parent Association will be sponsoring the luncheon for the students on October 31st. You will be getting the menu choices this week. Volunteers are needed, if you are interested; please contact Laura Nudo @ 630-458-8139 or Debbie Furguson@
  630-613-9421.
  Extra-curricular/Hot Lunch Surveys
Thank you to all the school families that completed our surveys earlier this month, we had a huge response and quite timely too.
Hot Lunch Update: The most popular item was chicken strips tentative plans to serve as hot lunch on Mondays. The next step will be to have a sample tasting for teachers and parents, so a vendor may be chosen.
Extra-curricular Programs Update: The most popular choice was Art Class. We had very positive input and many appreciated comments from the parents. The St. Philip families prefer these classes to start immediately after dismissal and may run as 6 weeks long programs. The next step will be contacting other schools, whom already offer similar programs, for their opinion. If all goes well and families are interested, plans to run week long camps during the summer are a possibility.
  Bible Bingo!
The St. Philip Parish is sponsoring a “Bible Bingo” Comedy Show for adults on January 21st. That evening there will be a show, for just $20 per person. See the St. Philip School main page for details and tickets.

Box Tops for Education

Box Tops for Education

  •

Welcome to the 2011-12 BoxTops for Education Program.

St. Philip the Apostle has been a participant in the BoxTops for Education for many years and since 2002, we have earned $14,429 – WOW!  All of the funds have been used to purchase books for the main school library and classroom libraries for the lower grades, so St Philip students can feed their need to read!

Participating is easy, all you do is clip the BoxTops for Education logo off of participating products from General Mills, Avery, and other manufacturers. Send them in to school in an envelope marked “BoxTops”. Each BoxTop is worth 10¢ and some Bonus BoxTops are worth more.  Twice per year, we send them to General Mills and a check gets sent right to school. It is that easy!

Our goal this year is $2,200 and we are already almost halfway there!  Spread the word to family and friends to clip BoxTops for you – it is an easy way to support St Philip School without spending any extra money. Just save them  from products you already purchase for your family, such as Cheerios, Kleenex, Hamburger Helper and many more. Follow the link below to learn more about the BoxTops for Education program and start clipping today.

    Box Tops For Education Logo

NEW this year, BoxTops for Education has teamed up with Jewel Foods and other Supervalu stores with a program called Growing Local Learning®. When you purchase certain General Mills products, a bonus coupon will print at the register. Simply enter the code printed on the coupon to earn money for St. Philip. (You can also turn in the coupon and we will enter it for you). So far this year we have earned almost $300 just from this new Box Tops for Education partnership!  Click on the Growing Local Learning® logo below to get to the website and learn more.
