Greetings and Welcome...

 St. Philip the Apostle School

 Learning Center

Our St. Philip the Apostle School Learning Center, located in the school library, provides our first and second grade students with the opportunity to practice and reinforce the skills they are learning in their classrooms. They are ably assisted by many of their very generous parents, who volunteer their time and energy.

Every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 9:50 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., each student works with a variety of language and math manipulatives which are listed on Contracts. Each child also has the opportunity to create a story on the computer and design a picture to accompany the story.  Additional educational software such as the "Jump Start" CD's and the "Living Books" CD's are included on the Contracts.

Needless to say, there is never a dull moment as Sister Barbara and Volunteers assist the children in using the manipulatives and computers, check their work, and stamp the Contracts as each task is successfully completed. The children delight in spending time in the Learning Center. It is a known fact that the adults enjoy their time here almost as much.
