Hello 8th Grade Parents and Parents of Students from Grade 5- 7 Reading! Please read through the information below, and check for updates often.

8th Grade is certainly a unique time for both students and parents.  There is now a calendar of events that are unique to 8th graders this year below on this webpage.  You will be given more information regarding all of these events as they get closer to happening, but this is a way to give you a ‘quick glance’ at what is ahead for 8th graders this year.  If you want a further explanation of any of these events, please do not hesitate to stop in, give us a call, or e-mail.

Happy February....

In 5th Grade reading we are working in our Literature book and learning about teamwork.  We continue our unit with dog sledding and cooperation and trust in a team.

In 6th Grade we are finishing our poetry unit and starting our new novel Great Gilly Hopkins where we will make a skit and a newspaper article on foster children. 

In 7th Grade we excited to enter the poetry anthology contest.  We will be starting our new novel the Giver and discuss utopias.

In 8th Grade we are using multi-SMBoard games to enhance and build on our knowledge of literary terms while entering the poetry contest.

In English we mastered the concept of comma usage and are working on prepositional phrases......we also do DOL every morning which is so essential to grammar and writing....

In Religion we are starting our new book...Called to Faith.   Confirmation was a wonderful experience....we congratulate all of the 8th graders....Service is still a part of our lives....please remember others in your prayers that need help and support.
