Be it known to all who enter here that CHRIST is the reason for this school.

He is the unseen but ever present teacher in its classes.  He is the model of its faculty and the     inspiration of its students

School Mission Statement:

St. Philip the Apostle School is     committed to a Catholic Education based on the Church's call to "Teach as Jesus Did." The mission of St. Philip's School is to embrace the values of Jesus, and in a faith centered environment, to promote the spiritual, academic, emotional and social development of each child.

United with the parish community and in partnership with parents, St. Philip the Apostle School strives to teach the message of Jesus, to share a Christian commitment to service, and to foster academic excellence. Together we aspire to encourage the unique gifts and talents of our students, thereby helping them to reach fullest potential, and preparing them to meet the challenges of a culturally diverse and changing world.

Today's Catholic Teacher magazine has proudly announced the 2010 recipients of the Catholic Schools for Tomorrow Award for Innovations in Education. This award annually honors 12 Catholic elementary and secondary schools that have lead the way by implementing exemplary, innovative programs to improve the teaching and learning of their students, faculty and staff.

Our school has been chosen as winner in the category of "Innovation in total community involvement" by 'Going Green'.

"Students and staff took action on a commitment to become better stewards of the Earth. The greening of our school started with a student project and has spread throughout the school and beyond to the entire community." Experiment results "led to all students participating in a recycling class and teaching their families." Also, these results were used to obtain a grant to purchase new recycling bins for every Addison homeowner. As a result of the project "recycling volume in Addison increased 64 percent in a single week."
