  • Catholic Schools Week 2012

    Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service

    January 29 – February 3

This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service.”  This year’s Catholic Schools Week will also be a time for us to honor the memory of Sister Barbara Elliott.  St. Philip’s was very lucky to have her.  She truly embodied this year’s theme of Faith, Academics, Service.

    Sunday, January 29th:
We welcome Bishop Conlon and say congratulations to all of our young men and women as they become adults in the Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation.

    Monday, January 30th:
Catholic Schools Week Opening Prayer Service at 9:30 AM in the church.  We plan to honor Sister Barbara Elliott at this service.

    Tuesday, January 31st:
Our Open House is from 8:30 – 11:30 AM and will include school tours for new and existing families as well as the Curriculum and Science Fair in the gym with a Reception in Room 1.

    Wednesday, February 1st:
In the afternoon we will be treated to a Cultural Arts Program in the gym. This enthusiastic live program will feature some “Game Show Madness” that focuses on Health, Fitness, Mind and Body Awareness through interactive Challenges, Trivia and Teamwork.   The students will receive a nice dessert treat after their lunch on this day.

    Thursday, February 2nd:
The 8:00 AM Mass and Reception to follow will recognize all the volunteers who make St. Philip the Apostle School such a wonderful place to be.  At 12:45 PM we will head to the gym for the 8th Grade versus Faculty volleyball game.  Later that evening the Parent Association will be hosting a Family Social Night at Xtreme Trampoline.

    Friday, February 3rd:
There will be no school for students as we take the opportunity as a staff to have Mass and a Retreat Day.
