"I have come to give you life and to give
it to you more fully."
(John 10:10)
The mission of the parish NEW LIFE youth ministry
is to challenge high school youth to live life more fully as Catholics
and to support high school students as they face the many challenges of
youth culture today. The parish youth ministry program is an
experience of faith community for high school students focusing on
family, friendships, faith, facing the future as Catholics, and having
fun with their peers. It will involve teens in the full life of
the parish through active participation in the roles of the liturgy,
involvement in other parish ministries, service to those in need, and
quality prayer and retreat experiences.
"See how the Christians
love one another."
Become part of a caring community living the Gospel; meet new friends;
reconnect with old friends; be a participant, not an observer. "To each is given a gift to be used for the good of all."
(1 Corinthians 12:7)
Teens will also have the opportunity to share
their time, talents, and treasures by:
-
Lectoring at Mass
-
Sharing Christ in the Eucharist as an
Extraordinary Minister (Age 16+)
-
Being a teen assistant in the RE Program
on Saturday mornings or Wednesday evenings
-
Leading prayer services
-
Visiting the elderly
-
Providing a Christ experience for others by
acting as a team leader at the Confirmation Retreat or
at a high school retreat experience for other teens.
