Confirmation means
"strengthening." It is a time for our eighth graders to
deepen their faith and make the decision to follow Jesus and live his
Gospel message to the world. At Baptism, their parents made the
choice to have them raised as members of the Catholic Church; during
Confirmation, they must decide if they will continue to live as a
Catholic. All of their studies and preparation during this school
year have been geared to help them realize what this commitment to
Jesus, the Catholic Church, and humanity entails. Rather than
viewing Confirmation as an ending, we hope that they will view it as the
beginning of living their faith in a more active and mature way.
Below are photos from the 2008 Confirmation service
which took place on Thursday, January 17, with Bishop
Sartain.
Many thanks to Laura Lanseth & the Contemporary Choir
for providing a wonderful musical experience for Confirmation.
