The mission of St. Philip the Apostle Youth
Ministry is to challenge high school youth to live life more fully as a
Catholic and to support them as they face the many challenges of youth
culture today. ACTS 2007 will focus on family, friendships, faith,
and facing the future as a Christian. ACTS 2007 will involve teens
in the full life of the parish through active participation in the roles
of the liturgy, involvement in other parish ministries and service to
those in need. ACTS 2007 youth will be visible in the parish and
in the Addison community sharing their faith and belief in Jesus Christ. ACTS
2007 youth are "the first apostles to other youth" in their school
and in the community. Youth need a connection to Christ and the
church at this important stage of their faith journey. ACTS 2007 teaches compassion, respect forgiveness, tolerance, love, and raises the
awareness level of youth to the Gospel values of Jesus Christ. Our
goals are: To build a youth community that cares and sees
with the eyes of Jesus and appreciates the unique gifts and talents of
each person; to activate the faith life of the parish teens through
scripture study, vibrant prayer/retreat experiences, and service to
those in need; and to challenge parish teens to make healthy decisions
based on the light of the Gospel of Jesus. ACTS 2007 is an experience of faith community for high school
youth. There are different experiences each month to bring teens
closer to Christ and reflect on how they live their faith in today's
world ACTS 2007 is not a class; there is no tuition--just fun,
faith, and friendships. Take the challenge--and bring a friend!
The ACTS 2007 meetings are a good place to hang out with your
friends--meet new friends--have fun--eat pizza, ice cream, and other
goodies--listen to speakers, talk about current events, meditate,
reenact the Stations of the Cross, enrich your mind, and share your
faith. Please plan on joining us for this year's ACTS 2007 experiences! Call the RE Office at 543-1754 for a
full schedule of
events. Below are meetings dates for 2007/2008: |
